Purple Rich Apparel was created a few decades ago, more specifically in 1994, during an art class in the 7th-grade of my school journey. I was thirteen, maybe fourteen years old and, I remember it took place once a week for a couple of months. At that time, it was just a fun project of creating and printing a t-shirt. I never could imagine that this dormant memory of my life would awaken 27 years later out of necessity and mostly, for the will to do something that I truly love.
At the beginning of this school project, as a teenager I had no idea what I wanted to print on my t-shirt but was sure of the things I did not want to. All my classmates were steps ahead of me and, I was still deciding what I should do. Screen Printing was the method the teacher was showing all students. There are a few steps for this printing but nothing complicated. Just lots of small details to take care of. The idea of the class was to work with our hands, and I just loved it! From creating the design to, transferring and cutting the stencil, followed by deciding the colors and just reveling my art. Everything was done by us. Done by one!
If you ask me if I liked the final product. Well, let me tell you that I used this t-shirt countless times. A lot more than what you can think about it. I wore my t-shirt for 19 years. Yes, nineteen years of using it frequently. From wearing in parties and vacations on its prime days to pajama and hangover mood on its end-of-life cycle. My t-shirt and design had no face. It had no words. It had no place. It had no race. It had no religion neither a political message. It did not have any fight. What my t-shirt and design had indeed, was a soul. It could be worn anywhere. It could be owned by everyone and anyone.
Purple Rich Apparel was created some few decades ago, but it was just born, in 2021. Our creations are meant to be worn anytime. Everyday! Our designs are thought to be interpreted in your way. Words can lead you to specific thinking. We do not want that. We want to make sure you interpret our art for the reason that you need and, at the moment that you are in your life. Like a Rorschach test, there is no right or wrong, there is just what you see.
Today, Purple Rich Apparel is a clothing & accessories online brand and retailer based in North America. We are inspired by real people looking for their own special reason to be themselves. Our designs and products are created to be wore at any moment and, at the same time having that special edge to stand out.
We produce, design and ship our products internationally. Boarders, in our view, are just a limitation to be exploited.
